Michael is a seasoned engineering and technology leader with a deep background in embedded systems, signal processing, and medical device innovation. Over the course of his 30-year career, he has led cross-functional engineering teams, developed IP strategy, and delivered cutting-edge technical solutions aligned with business goals. He is named as an inventor on more than 30 granted or pending U.S. patents.

Prior to joining ARIA, Michael spent the majority of his engineering career at Cochlear, where he led the development of advanced sound processing and firmware systems in a regulated medical device environment. His technical expertise spans DSP algorithm design and implementation, edge-deployable AI/ML systems, audio electronics, ASIC and System-on-Chip (SoC) development, VHDL, and large-scale data systems.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics from the University of Sydney, as well as a Master of Science in Signal Processing and an MBA from Macquarie University.
